If you look down you’re going to fall down.
Halfway through class I’m contorted in a position I didn’t think was possible, but there I was, and my yoga instructor said to the class, “ Find a spot to look at but don’t look down. If you look down you’re going to fall down”. Of course, the spot I picked was on the floor. . . and I fell down. I put myself back in the pose and picked a spot in front of me. To my surprise I was able to hold it the entire time, my body was on fire, but I held it!
If you look down, you’re going to fall down.
It’s so applicable to not just yoga but to life in general. I’m sure everyone knows someone who always seems to always look at the negative or gets lost in the sauce when life throws something unexpected at them. Nothing seems to go their way. I bet you’ve felt like that person before. I’m sure you also know the exact opposite; that person that always seems to find the good in a situation, they are always moving forward. Everything seems to go their way. This is not a coincidence. What you focus on is what you attract. If you focus on the negative that’s exactly what you are going to get. If you focus on finding the positive even when it’s hard to find life seems to find a way to turn itself around for you. So try and find the positive in life and direct your focus on where you want to go. . . because if you look down you’re going to fall down.
